We believe in a child-led, emergent curriculum, where learning grows from children’s interests, ideas, and experiences. Through discussions,
projects, and exploration, children engage in meaningful and purposeful learning. Teachers provide guidance and provoke curiosity, while
children lead their own learning, building on their strengths and expanding their skills in ways that are relevant and engaging to them.
Pipi Room (0-2 years)
The Pipi Room is a warm and loving space for little ones aged 5 months to around 2 years. At this special age, children need lots of gentle
care, attention, and cuddles. With a maximum of 1 teacher for every 3 children, we can give each little one the love and 1 on 1 time they
need to feel safe, happy, and ready to explore their world.
Our staff follow the RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers – Magda Gerber) philosophy. This means we don’t just respect babies, we show our
respect in every interaction. We see each child as a unique little person, full of thoughts, feelings, and ideas, even from the very
youngest age, and we nurture their individuality with care and attention.
We also provide a predictable environment with consistent routines and gentle guidance, helping little ones feel safe and confident as they
explore and grow. Through Storypark, we share the special moments and highlights of your child’s day, keeping you connected to their
adventures and discoveries. This room is full of love, encouragement, and discovery every day!
Paua Room (2-6 years)
In this space, children are moving through the stages and becoming increasingly confident in many aspects of the daily routines and
activities. Strong friendships and meaningful relationships flourish here, and children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and embrace
new challenges.
Every achievement, big or small, is celebrated, helping children feel proud, capable, and ready for the next step in their journey. Regular
Excursions and extra-curricular learning experiences are the highlights of this room.
As your child progresses through this room, they begin our Tuakana (Transition to School) programme. The programme is led by a
primary-qualified teacher and an experienced ECE teacher. We also work closely with local schools to make the transition smooth, helping
tamariki feel confident, prepared, and excited for their next big adventure.
